Monday 19th-Friday 23rd June

You should have your Dragon and Maths home learning booklets to work through. Please also remember to read and practice your spellings. You will earn more house points if you bring in evidence of this into school.

We have had a creative week this week as we have made some fruity sorbets to keep us cool in the heat. We all worked together to make a delicious lemon and and zingy raspberry sorbet. They were both really tasty. We have also continued to work on our medieval feast project. This week we have began making pots for our food.

A big well done to Ty and Charlie too for some wonderful 'Home Learning!'

Home Learning

We now have 5 weeks until the end of term. We are now at the stage in the year when we have covered all the area of the curriculum and we are consolidating our skills and building a greater depth to our understanding. I have created a pack of different Maths activities for you to complete.

Please make sure you bring in a piece a week a long with a piece from the dragon list I have already set you.

Please ask or collect from the home learning box a new sheet if you lose any.

This week we have enjoyed the weather and have spent a lot of our time outside to do our learning. Above are some pictures of us completing a maths challenge. We have also been practicing for Sports Day. Fingers crossed for the weather next Thursday! (22nd June) All children have been given a letter about sports day so please ask if you need another one.

We have also completed our medieval clothing for our feast, decided on our role during the feast. We will be Lords and Ladies, knights, Entertainers and peasants.

In our Science lesson  this week we did an experiment with bottles and balloons.

Summer 2

Welcome back to Summer 2! We are continuing with our wonderful 'Dragon' topic. Below are some photos of the home learning we have been creating as part of our topic.

We have also started planning our end of term 'Medieval Feast.' This week we started to make our clothing that we will wear during our feast.

Home Learning
Friday 9th June
Topic reminder: Your home learning for topic is to choose one of the activities from  the dragon sheet to complete each week and bring it into school to show us or send Miss Dekker an email: analisa.dekker@wenhastonprimary.co.uk (Please note, since we have changed to an academy my address has changed.)
Maths- We need to made sure we are really secure with our times table facts and of course our division facts. These skills are required in some many areas of maths and therefore are essential to your learning and development in mathematics. This week you have your ‘Ultimate Division and times table challenge’ to complete. The more you do this the quicker challenge should take and the more questions you should get correct.
Spellings-This week, we have completed our last spelling test of our tricky words for this year. You should have a copy of your test to take home with you so you can focus on the spellings you need to personally work on. Next year (Year 5) we will resume with sending 5 spellings home a week to learn. Remember the more you learn now, the less you have to do next year.

Good luck J
