Good Night Mister
Tom
Chapters 1-3
Class 4 have been reading over the last 2 weeks the first
three chapters of Good Night Mister Tom. We have discussed new words (below)
and we have answered some retrieval and inference questions. In these chapters,
we meet the two main characters (Tom Oakley and William Beach) we learn that
William was beaten by his mother and so he is very nervous when he meets Tom.
Initially, Tom doesn’t want an evacuee but as the chapters are developing we
think his opinion is changing. Tom also has a dog called Sammy and in the last
chapter they have taken him on a walk across the countryside fields to the
doctor’s house as Tom wanted to ask him some advice about how to look after
William.
Thank you to everyone who has made a cake etc and who is helping tomorrow at the Halesworth Co-op.
Have a good weekend!
