This week we have been very busy! Year 6 tried their first SATs papers, we finished our helmets and our Viking power points. In English we wrote our last Viking Saga and in Maths Year 5 revised everything they have done so far this term. On Thursday, we went to Ilketshall and watched the Massai Warriors dance and tell us about their culture. On Friday, Year 6 went to see Crucial Crew. The people there, taught us all about keeping safe and valuable life skills.

Monday 9th October-Friday 13th October

This week in Class 4 we have been making Viking helmets in our topic time. We have spent several afternoons getting very sticky and making our tables very dirty! Having said that, our helmets are coming along nicely and should be finished next week. Below are some photos we took.

We have also been busy in our English lessons, writing more Viking Sagas. Next week we will be writing our final one on our own as we have done a lot in groups and with our lead adult for our group.

In Maths, we have been impressing Mrs Jenkins with our addition and subtraction column methods. We have then applied our knowledge to some problem solving. We are becoming more confident in working in this mastery maths ways.

In our dance lesson this week we finished our routines and recorded them. Next week we will be like the strictly judges and evaluate each groups performance.

This Friday we made Mrs Milne and Mrs Jenkins smile with our singing. We are enjoying singing and playing instruments to Mama Mia by Abba.

The home learning is still coming in and impressing us all. Please continue. Next half term there will be a new list of activities for you to have a go at.

Monday 2nd October-Friday 6th October

Making paddle boats

Testing paddle boats

We made sails for our boats

We then tested our boats in Science. We discussed if our boats were buoyant and how the water showed resistance to our boats. The paddle helped to move our boats quicker through the water as it moved it away from where our boats wanted to travel.

We have been working hard in Maths this week. We worked on Roman Numerals and Powers of 10.

In English we have worked in groups to create Viking Sagas.

We worked really well in our groups.

Phoebe and Reuben's Home learning! Another super long house! Well done and thank you.

Monday 25th-Friday 29th September

This week Class 4 have been working hard on their Viking Sagas. Mrs Jenkins' team against Mrs Milne's team. The battle was a tough one and a very close call. The standard of writing has improved and all of our fellow warriors should be proud of their achievements. Class 1 and 2 enjoyed hearing our stories at the end of the week. We will have more photos to show when our photo permissions have all come back.

We also have some movers in Class 4! In our P.E lessons this term with Mrs Jenkins we are creating our own dance routine to Bruno Mars 'Uptown Funk.' We have entertained Mrs Milne and Mrs Jenkins with our moves and enthusiasm for our lessons.

Our class room is now becoming a Viking land with some fantastic shields hanging from our ceiling. These accompany our long ship which has been greatly used by all the children. Next week we will start our helmets.
