                                                     Monday 26th April-Friday 30th April

In our topic lessons we have been learning about the Galapagos Islands. We have been looking at the physical geography of the islands. They have several volcanoes there and several are still active. In class today we created our own volcanic eruption. Below are some photos of what happened. Scroll down to the bottom ones to see them in the right order.

Last week in our English lessons we designed a new creature from the Islands. Below is a picture of the class animal we designed together.

There was no hot chocolate Friday this week but well done to Sonny for getting it the week before for his excellent explanation of how to tackle a maths question related to finding a percentage of something. Who will get it next week?

                                             Monday 12th April-Friday 16th April

Welcome back to the Summer term. Please find attached in the Google Classroom any Parent letters for our new topic as well as our Knowledge Organisers.

Class 4 have had a good first week back and have worked very hard. In English they started reading their class book, Darwin's Dragon and then researching who Darwin was. By the end of the week the children had written a biography about this famous person.

On Friday we finished our last topic off (Crime and Punishment) with a special day. The children looked back at the crimes and punishments dating back from Roman times all the way to modern day. The day was full of discussions and debates, sorting information, quizzes and finally an investigation into a pretend burglary that had taken place at Wenhaston Primary. The children had to check finger prints, handwriting and foot prints to see if they could find the culprit. Below are some photos of the day.

A big well done to Seth for getting the Hot chocolate reward this week. He had worked hard during the week and showed great resilience when he found things a little tricky. A great first week back, well done.

                                                     Monday 22nd March-Friday 26th March

In English this week Class 4 have been discussing whether graffiti is art or vandalism. By the end of the week each child produced a balanced argument, discussing the different view points and then coming up with their own opinion. We were very pleased with the quality of work, well done Class 4.

Alongside their English, Class 4 produced some of their own graffiti type style work. They will be put on display next term when our new display boards arrive. We will add photos to show you at that point.

This Friday was the last day of term. To celebrate our achievements and Easter this term, we made some chocolate rice crispy mini egg nests. Below are some photos of us making them.

                                             WELCOME BACK AFTER LOCKDOWN

Class 4 came back this week and made us very proud with the work they had bought in to share. We could see how hard they had worked at home. We had seen some work on the Google Classroom but it was nice to see it in real life. The children displayed it on their tables and then we all wondered round and took time looking at it and complimenting each other on their achievements. We will be displaying some of the work in our classroom for a while. I will put photos on here next week when the display is finished.

Friday was Inside Out day in school. This was a day where children wore their clothes inside out and we talked about how we are feeling on the inside and also being aware others may look ok but they could be hurting. We discussed lots of things about this issue and agreed we need to think about this all the time and not just a day in a calendar year. It was a great day of children showing kindness to each other, complimenting and encouraging each other when they found something difficult. On our Google Classroom we will be putting up some videos of the children doing a puppet show about the Highwayman poem. Some children found this difficult as they do not like speaking aloud or performing but everyone was brave and they did it to the best of their ability.

A great first week back Class 4. Next week I will put some photos on here.

Have a good weekend!
