Friday 22nd March

Spellings: This week we have been learning words from our statutory list the children need to know by the end of Year 6. These are the words we have been focussing on this week.

1.     Yacht

3.    Vehicle
4.    Immediately
5.    Persuade



Reading: This week we have enjoyed reading our own books in class. We need to remember to write down every time we read as the reading challenge is underway. The winner will have a special treat in our book corner on the last day of this term. (Friday 5th April.)

Next week: 
Cooking, in Class 4. We will be making Pizza on Monday. Look at the school app for details.

Tuesday-Handball Final at Earsham.

Friday 15th March

Spellings: This week we have been learning words from our statutory list the children need to know by the end of Year 6. These are the words we have been focussing on this week.

Reading: This week we have looked at two short texts, ‘World War 2 Evacuations’ and Favela the Street Kid: The Story of Little Pele.’  We have then worked together on answering 3 mark questions based on these texts. The children are getting better at identifying two pieces of information from the text (retrieve) and one piece or sometimes more evidence to support their answer.

World Book Day
Look at the wonderful display the whole school created! Our display is based on the book, 'One Day on Our Blue Planet.

 In class, we shared our favourite book and wrote a book review for it.







We came into school dressed in our pyjamas.

Friday 8th March
Spellings: This week we have been learning the soft g rule. The soft g sounds like an j when we say it but actually it is spelt as a g. The g is always followed by e i or y and paired with d (dge).

Reading: This week we have read the book, ‘One Day on Our Blue Planet’ as a school. We have completed a piece of writing and we have created a wonderful display based on the animals in the book. Please look at the class blogs to see what we have been up to. On Thursday we came dressed in our pyjamas and we bought our favourite books to school to celebrate World Book Day.

Monday 25th February-Friday 1st March

Welcome back after half term. Hopefully everyone had a lovely holiday.

Class 4 have started Spring 2 term with some fantastic work. They have debated whether graffiti is art or vandalism, they have written it as a balanced argument and they have produced their own graffiti art. Next week, we will put photos up of our finished pieces of work. Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Milne and Mrs Bowles have been really impressed with the standard of work coming from Class 4. Everyone got a Headteachers Award this week. A huge well done!









Mrs Jenkins has given all children a new set of Home Learning choices for this half term.

Reading: Our reading challenge has begun again. Who will be our winners at the end of this half term? The winners will spend some time in their class book corner with tea and cakes to celebrate their reading achievements.

A huge well done to our Cross Country runners, we look forward to hearing how you get on next week. Another well done to our Golden Book winners as well. Lots of celebrations and achievements this week!

Next week: World Book Day on Thursday 7th March. Come to school in your pyjama's or just your slippers. Bring in your favourite book as well to share with the class.
