Easter Holidays Home Learning

There is no set holiday home learning for this Easter. Make sure you relax and enjoy yourselves with your families and friends. If you want to keep your brain ticking over during the holidays, don’t forget Times Table Rock Stars or Discovery Espresso. Key Stage 2 Bitesize revision website is also good. Any calculation or arithmetic speed practice will also help when it comes to your SATs next term. I always recommend a good book over the holidays.

Happy Easter and Happy holidays. I know you will all be fantastic next term. I look forward to bringing in my baby and hearing what you have been up to.

Grow your own Sunflower

As a leaving present to you, I would like to give you some sunflower seeds to grow. I know you will look after them (as you are experts) and hopefully you will enjoy watching them grow. You may want to have a competition with other children in the class to see whose flowers get the tallest. Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers, they make me smile and I hope they do the same for you. I have really enjoyed teaching you and I hope to see you all soon.

Spellings: This week we have been learning words from our statutory list the children need to know by the end of Year 6. These are the words we have been focussing on this week.

Reading: This week we have looked at two short texts, ‘World War 2 Evacuations’ and Favela the Street Kid: The Story of Little Pele.’  We have then worked together on answering 3 mark questions based on these texts. The children are getting better at identifying two pieces of information from the text (retrieve) and one piece or sometimes more evidence to support their answer.

World Book Day

Look at the wonderful display the whole school created! Our display is based on the book, 'One Day on Our Blue Planet.

 In class, we shared our favourite book and wrote a book review for it.

We came into school dressed in our pyjamas.
