Good Night Mister Tom
Friday 25th May
This week we have read two chapters. In these chapters, we have learnt about William and his friends practicing a play (Christmas Carol) with Miss Thorne. William has been given the part of the Scrooge. This was a surprising character for William to play according to his friends.

As we approach half way through the book, we have learnt more and more about the characters and we have realised there is a lot more detail in the book to the film

Friday 11th May
This week we have read chapters 6 and 7. All the children have read aloud in class at one point this week. We have discovered some new words (see our list.) Mrs Jenkins and Mrs Milne have been very impressed with everyone’s reading and listening skills during our reading sessions.
In chapter 6, we learn about the meeting in the village hall, why William was afraid of having a bath and why William is now getting better night’s sleep.
In chapter 7, we hear about William’s new friend (Zach) and we heard about their adventure of blackberry picking.
NO NEW SPELLINGS TO LEARN THIS WEEK! (2 WEEKS OFF BECAUSE OF SATS)

Good luck next week, Year 6, you will be great. You have worked so hard and we are very proud of you!
