Class 4 have been writing motivational speeches this week in their English lessons. They were pretending to be Ernst Shackleton. They all wrote some very inspiring speeches and then on Friday we read them to each other. We were a little too shy to film them. Maybe next time we do something like this!
Well done to our Golden Book winners this week!
Congratulations to Oliver and Lois for finishing the reading challenge. Their reward was a cup of tea and a biscuit. We wonder who will be next?

                                         Monday 16th November-Friday 20th November

This week in English we have been in role. Our crew members (from last week CV work) have been saying goodbye to their loved ones as they leave to go on their ship Endurance for their Antarctic Adventure with Ernst Shackleton. Great acting Class 4! We then used this knowledge to write a letter to our loved ones and then we also wrote a reply letter back from them. Super work this week!

Super Sea Art Work!

Road Safety Week-Class 4 have been learning about how to keep safe on the roads. They have been making posters to help encourage others to be safe also. We hope to laminate some and display them around the school gates for our families to read. Great work, Class 4!

Congratulations to our Golden Book winners this week. Have a good weekend!

                                                            Celebrating Children in Need

It was Children in Need on Friday. We all came dressed in non uniform and some of us went the extra special mile. See the pictures above. Well done to everyone as there was a big contribution from Class 4 to support this important cause.

In English this week we have been researching the crew members on Ernst Shackleton's  ship. We wrote CV's for these people and then we role played interviews with the members and Shackleton. This was great fun and everyone was very good at getting into character.

In Maths, we have learning about Fractions. We used the equipment to help us find Equivalent fractions and then on another day we learnt about simplifying fractions. By the end of the week we had also learnt how to convert an improper fraction to a mixed fraction and vice versa.

Golden Book winners-

Iris for great participation and challenging herself more.

Samuel for showing great goal skills during football club on Thursday.

Homework is on the Classroom, don't forget to practice your spellings and keep reading!

Well done for a super week. Have a good weekend everyone!

A beautiful Thursday morning out on the back field during a P.E lesson. The children were constantly moving, working hard at all times and were great at working as a team.

This is Ernest Shackleton. He is an explorer. We are learning about him in our English lessons. We are reading as a class, The Journey of Shackleton.

This is Mrs Jenkins completing some experiments in our topic lesson to show how erosion happens on our coast lines.

Golden Book winner: Harvey for his superb work in all his lessons this week, but particularly in English when we were researching our explorer Shackleton.

Happy Birthday to Iris and Mrs Jenkins too!

This were our finished shoe boxes from last term. We were showing the journey of a river from the source towards the mouth.
