Friday 14th October

I am very sorry we have not had a blog for the last few weeks. This has been due to technical problems with my computer. I will now add add some pictures from the last few weeks.

This week in school we have been continuing to work on the 'Food for Thought' project. We produced posters in our English lessons to explain what we have done so far. Some of us presented them to our parents in our Harvest church service this Friday.

We have been also been enjoying our music lessons as well as topic 'Greeks,' our Big Writes and our science lessons.

In our topic lessons this week we have been making some Greek Vases. Take a look at the photos from this week.

Well done for a fantastic week of work. We have been solving crimes in our Science lessons with Mr and Mrs Bowles, solving a light investigation, as well as collecting lots of house points for our houses, writing fantastic persuasive non-fiction books with Miss Dekker and we also created some fantastic artwork for the school to celebrate Roald Dahl's 100th birthday. At lunch time we had a lego club under the trees in our field; this is what we made.

Maths- This week we have been learning the value of numbers with decimals. We have ordered them, rounded them and multiply and divided them. Have a go at either of these brilliant websites to practice more at home. We will be using our active learn accounts again soon, but they need a little bit of administrative work to sort out our new classes at the moment.

Decimal Math Games - Math Play (rounding decimals to the nearest tenth, hundredth, thousandth)

English- This week it has been Roald Dahl’s birthday. We celebrated his birthday by talking about characters in his books and created some lovely art work. This week I would like you to write a book review for your favourite Roald Dahl book. Think about writing in paragraphs, using your best handwriting and including as much detail as possible. You could write about what is happening in the story, favourite part, favourite character and who do you think would enjoy the book the most. A book review is similar to your persuasion writing you have been doing this week. You can use the same techniques to persuade people to read your favourite book. (Adjectives, in my opinion, I believe, I am certain you will strongly agree.)

                                                             Friday 16th September

Your spellings for this week to practice are:
1.     Apparent
2.    Appreciate
3.    Attached
4.    Available
5.    Average

When you are practicing, remember you can make it fun and think of a rhyme, write an acrostic poem with each letter being the start of a line, write in different coloured pens, write in bubble writing or any other fun way you can think of to learn your spellings.

Welcome to a new year. We have had an exciting start with children coming back with a great attitude to their learning. We started our new term with some wacky or extreme reading. We had lots of fun taking these photographs. Our 'Food for Thought Project' got underway with a big harvest of courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, apples and plums. Adnams was very pleased with what we had grown for them!

Tuesday 13th September we look forward to Roald Dahl Day. We will be celebrating Rolad Dahl's 100th birthday with various activities based around his books. Class 4 will be doing some artwork based on his books that will be displayed around the school. The theme of the artwork will be based on our British Values along with the wonderful characters in Roald Dahl's books.

Class 4 have had an exciting week this week. On Tuesday we walked with Class 3 to Thorington and watched the Aviva Women’s Cycle Tour go past. It was great fun the motorbike police all put their sirens on for us and waved. We were amazed at how fast the cyclists passed us and how they could all ride so closely together. We shouted ‘allez! allez! at the tops of our voices and had a brilliant time. We also had a visit from a Bungay High School teacher who helped us to design our own sweets and wrappers for them with advertising which we enjoyed a great deal.
