Monday 17th September-Friday 21st September

It has been another great week in Class 4. Children have worked hard in all subjects. Here are some of the highlights!

In English, we have continued our class story, 'A Boy and a Bear in a Boat.' We have been writing letters to the boy, trying to give him advice on what to do as he has discovered the bear (the captain) possibly doesn't know where he is going and the boy is also unsure how long it will be until they reach his destination. This is unknown to us as the reader. We have lots of questions and not many answers yet. We are really enjoying the book as it is giving us lots of points for discussion and mysteries for us to try and solve.

In Maths, we have been rounding 5 and 6 digit numbers to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10 000 and 1,000, 000. Year 5 have also been learning more about Roman numbers! Lots of children this week have scored themselves a 8-10 out of 10 this week because they have enjoyed their maths lessons. What a wonderful attitude to have!

In Geography, we have been learning about the Water Cycle and how streams, rivers, seas and oceans are formed.

We have also started learning our french for this term and started our music lessons. In P.E, we are playing football this half term. It was a little windy today, but the children were great and didn't let it stop them!

Towards the end of the week, year 6 have been completing their Bike Ability course. They all did really well and we want to say a huge congratulations to them all.

Friday, we had the pleasure of having some professional musicians in school. Together, they have created and played music for famous films like Harry Potter and Shrek. The musicians played the flute, harp and viola. They were fantastic! We really enjoyed listening to them play and asking them questions. We also got to play alongside them. It was a great experience.
